Vinny's Ristorante: A Local Favorite for Sicilian Style Italian in Somerville

One of our favorite places, conveniently located in my son's neighborhood. We started with Arancini always yummy. My son had the Chicken Marsala with homemade pasta and raved how delicious it was. I had the Chicken Bracciola, which unfortunately was not great. The homemade pasta with the spinach and sun-dried tomato sauce was amazing, but the chicken was very tough and the prosciutto was like leather. Probably just an off night for that dish. We've enjoyed many wonderful meals here and we’ll be back again.

​I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Vinny’s Ristorante! If you’re looking for excellent, non-pretentious Italian food, this is the absolute spot. It’s refreshing to find a place that focuses so heavily on flavor and authenticity without any of the unnecessary fluff. ​The absolute highlight for me? The clams. They were incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and easily some of the best I’ve had in the area. To top it off, the drinks were great and surprisingly affordable, which is a rare find these days.

Went to vinny’s after a few tapas at Barcelona Wine Bar after another amazing play at the huntington theatre. I was looking for comfort food and vinny’s did not disappoint. I was a little hesitant at first because it felt like a very family-oriented establishment . As a newcomer and a minority, I was a little apprehensive but I had nothing to worry about. Vinny’s was amazing! The food was soo good. I got the mussels al fra diavolo and they were divine! I got the italian rosé and it was a very generous pour for the price. Unfortunately I was running late to a previous planned event so I had to take my sausage and rabe linguini in cream sauce to go. It was such a pleasant surprise when i got home. Not only was it delicious, with the sausage made on sight, but it was a VERY generous portion for the price. That said, they already advised us that staffing was low tonight and I was more than okay with that. I would have waited because the vibes inside were super homie and immaculate. I would say, step out of your comfort zone and step into vinny’s. It was a great experience and the food did not disappoint. 9.5/10 would absolutely recommend.

Hands down the best Italian food. Better than Northend. It’s a convenient store turned restaurant. You go to Vinny’s for the food and wonderful team!

This was my first time at Vinny’s and it was everything the positive reviews I read led me to believe. I had the Lemon Chicken but I substituted spinach for artichokes. It was so amazingly delicious that I almost ate the whole thing! Normally, I can only eat about half this much food - the portion was very generous. The lemon sauce was absolutely perfectly balanced and flavorful. The two chicken breasts were cooked to perfection and not dry. And the homemade fusilli pasta was absolutely perfect and delicious as well. The bread appetizer was delicious as well. The atmosphere was of a long-time neighborhood restaurant. If you’re looking for a five star modern ambience, this isn’t it. But it is warm and inviting.

What a lovely place!! Everything from the freshly baked bread to dessert was fabulous! The food tasted as if we were invited to an Italian family dinner. My husband and I shared the veal Parmesan and salmon pasta. We opted pay extra to have the homemade pasta served with our dishes and I’m so glad we did! The portions are generous and the prices are super reasonable. I highly recommend to try the homemade tiramisu if you have any room left! We will definitely be back

Vinny's was excellent. Total home style feel, great servers and always on top of it. I highly recommend this place. Definitely worth the trip. First time in Boston (I'm from Az.) and I would highly recommend this place to all. Great food and Atmosphere. Thank you for making us feel welcome

Our last night in Boson, we came to Vinny's, a great neighborhood Sicilian restaurant, that was near our hotel. We had Ravioli, Veal Picatta, Penne, Angel Hair Pasta. House made Italian Sausage & Meatballs. Our meals were absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly. Our lovely server was Donatella. She gave us over the top service. Highly recommend Vinny's for great Sicilian cusine....
